Teenage Acne treatment
Dealing with pimples as a teen isn’t fun, which is why teenage acne care is a hot topic these days.
The usual response when dealing with an outbreak is to run down to the closest drug store for an acne removal cream, but is that the best approach?
In this brief article, we’ll take a look at what typically causes acne in teenagers and present some effective methods of dealing with it.
The Main Cause of Teenage Acne
The main cause of acne in teenagers is hormones.
The body’s hormones stimulate the production of sebum and keratin, and when there’s a production imbalance between the two — a pimple can appear.
During puberty both boys and girls have an increase in the hormones called androgens. These hormones cause sebaceous glands under the surface of the skin to enlarge. The sebaceous glands in response produce excess oil.
This excess oil mixes with bacteria and dead skin on the skin’s surface and blocks pores. Inside these pores the bacteria multiple and cause inflammation.
How to Care for Teenage Acne
Skin care: In order to have a healthy skin you need to keep your skin clean.
Wash your face in the morning and before going to bed at night with a mild cleanser having salicylic acid. In case you have body acne, then ensure that you wash sweat and perspiration, especially after games and exercises. These simple skin care steps will really help to get rid of pimples and blemishes.
Don’t squeeze: Make sure that you do not squeeze or break your pimples. Squeezing of pimples could result in bacterial infection with deep breakouts, resulting in cystic acne. Cystic acne often causes scarring of skin also. While pimples are temporary, but scars could be permanent or may take quite some time to go away.
Clean your makeup: If you use makeup for your face, then make sure that you use oil free products. Also do not go to bed at night with the makeup. Clean your makeup properly with a cleanser because leaving it will cause more damage and retard the process to get rid of pimples and blemishes.

Imposing restrictions on everybody for the sake of a very small minority is hardly fair. Just another example of certain members of society going overboard. Most of us have allergies to something, sometimes deadly allergies, but it’s your job to ensure you can manage them, not ours.
